Covenant House was born because a small group of volunteers believed that homeless children should not be living and dying on the streets.

What began as that small group home 35 years ago has grown to 21 locations in 15 U.S. cities and five other countries. Over one million young people have walked through the doors of Covenant House since 1972, and today we are the world's largest private not-for-profit serving the needs of homeless youth.

Covenant House is now able to provide a wide array of services to meet the varying needs of young people in need. In addition to our Crisis Centers, we have the Rights of Passage Program, which provides long-term residential living and job training. We have a nationwide hotline, the NINELINE, for kids and parents in crisis. We provide substance abuse programs and community centers where low-income families can get help in their own neighborhoods.

Covenant House is unveiling a refreshed look and logo. We feel it reflects both our rapid growth over the past 35 years, and our strong and energetic commitment to our mission and our future.

Our new logo and look honor our heritage. But most importantly, our new appearance will help us better reach out to kids and let them know we're there to help save them from the streets, with unconditional love and a door that's open 24/7. We will provide the support and life skills young people need to put their lives on the right track.

Everything we've ever done at Covenant House has stemmed from the needs of our kids. And so before we changed our look, we of course checked with them. Here is what some of our residents had to say:

"The message of the new logo is very clear ... the dove is flying free. We have our problems, but we come out soaring."

"I am that dove right now and I am almost ready to fly."

"I like the new logo because it is about moving on ... and I'm moving on from here."

"I like the 'doors are always open' because that means Covenant House won't say no to anyone if they want to stay here. After so many doors have been closed on you before now, they are held open."

We hope you like the new logo ... because it is the support from friends like you that lifts up our kids and helps them learn to fly on their own.
