Covenant House Nineline: We're Here Every Hour, Every Day.

The Covenant House Nineline extends Covenant House's presence and promise of hope through all 50 states. Kids and parents can reach out any time of the day or night for free, confidential, and immediate crisis intervention by dialing 1-800-999-9999. Last year Nineline's trained staff received over 63,000 crisis calls. Almost 200 times a day our workers and volunteers talk with callers about all types of crises ... the breakup of relationships; problems with parents, school, or peers; parenting concerns; alcohol and substance abuse; health concerns; physical abuse; homelessness; and suicide.

Help, support, and caring are provided immediately to every Nineline caller. A conference call can be made on behalf of a caller to any of the more than 26,000 local service agencies in our nationwide database. For the kid who has become a victim of the streets, a contact with a local shelter can mean a meal, a bed, and an opportunity to rebuild a life in a safe haven. For the child lost in the pain and confusion of growing up, a listening ear can help by providing support and guidance. For the abused child a call to the Nineline can begin the process that will provide safety for that child.

The Nineline's help is as close as the nearest phone -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's confidential and it's free. Whatever the need, the Nineline is prepared to meet it.
